The intent of Hill Street Center is to create and maintain a haven where people from all walks of life may find community in the spiritual path. The group leaders affiliated with Hill Street Center have trained in their respective disciplines for years. Hill Street Center offers a space for spiritual instruction and practice in a variety of traditions.
Founder & Director
Chris Chapple is Doshi Professor of Indic and Comparative Theology and Director of the Master of Arts in Yoga Studies at Loyola Marymount University. He trained in classical Yoga for 12 years with Gurani Anjali at Yoga Ananda Ashram in Amityville, New York. A scholar of the religions of India and a pioneer in the field of religion and ecology, he has published 20 books and over 150 articles. He edits the journal “Worldviews: Global Religions, Culture, and Ecology” (Brill). He serves on the Advisory Boards of the Ahimsa Center (Pomona), the Centre for Jaina Studies (London), and the Forum on Religion and Ecology (Yale).
